On June 4, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang I.

The parties exchanged views on the current state of Russian-Chinese relations, which continue to develop steadily in difficult economic and sanitary-epidemiological conditions, and highly appreciated the interaction of the two countries on the world stage. Particular attention was paid to the schedule of upcoming contacts at the highest and high levels.

During the conversation, a number of topical issues on the bilateral agenda in the context of the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between our countries, celebrated this year, will be touched upon.

It was agreed to jointly counter the challenges and threats common to the two states, as well as build up foreign policy coordination and expand interaction in various multilateral formats.

The conversation was held in a confidential and constructive manner.
