Pupils of the Nakhimov Naval School in Murmansk took part in a video conference dedicated to the 325th anniversary of the Russian Navy together with representatives of the cadet boarding school “Andrew the First-Called Cadet Naval Corps” (“APKMK”) in Kaliningrad. As part of the event, the participants reported on the work done to create a joint project “The 325th Anniversary of the FMF: Heroic Pages of the Baltic and Northern Fleets”.

The conference was opened by A.V. Yurchenko, Deputy Director of the State Budgetary Educational Institution KSHI KO “APKMK” for methodological and innovative work T.L. Zhenatova and the head of the methodological office of the NVMU branch in Murmansk N.A. Potemkin.

Under the guidance of the teacher of the Russian language and literature of the Cadet Naval Corps T.A. Vaschenko, class 8A cadets Artem Karpukhin, Ivan Galimsky, Daniil Mekko, Alexey Kochetkov created a timeline: “The Baltic Fleet from Peter the Great to the Present”, which reflects the history of creation, development and the current state of the Baltic Fleet. The cadets spoke about the minesweepers in the service of the Baltic Fleet, the Invincible and Yaroslav the Wise TFR, their military campaigns and operations. Cadet Aleksey Kochetkov demonstrated a film-tour, shot by him with his dad, about the city of Baltiysk – the main base of the Baltic Fleet.

Class 6A Nakhimovets of the NVMU branch in Murmansk Grigory Zborovsky revealed the idea, purpose and objectives of the project. Nakhimovets 8G class Stepan Filippov spoke about the flagship of the Northern Fleet, the cruiser “Peter the Great”, its power, purpose, military campaigns. Nakhimovets 6A class Nikita Artamonov revealed the uniqueness of the heavy aircraft carrier “Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Kuznetsov”, its participation in the military conflict in Syria. Nakhimovets 7G class Nikita Shkorinov spoke about the lead ship of the project 955 “Borey” “Yuri Dolgoruky”. Nakhimovets 8B class Nikita Turgunov showed how the work on the 3-D model of the main base of the ships of the Northern Fleet in Severomorsk is proceeding.

The Nakhimovites were trained by the teachers of the English language N.A. Kasyanova, L.A. Kopaleva, history teachers D.G. Semenov, Yu.A. Fitzner and teacher of life safety V.A. Gover.

The cadets and Nakhimovites agreed to continue working on the project.
