Servicemen of the Airborne Forces from the Pskov Guards Airborne Assault Formation practiced overcoming natural water obstacles by completing the training exercise “driving equipment afloat” on the newest BMD-4 M and BTR-MDM Rakushka airborne combat vehicles.

Practical actions of the crews of combat vehicles took place at a specially equipped water center near Pskov.

Before starting training, the servicemen studied the safety requirements, passed the swimming standards, took a course of light diving training and practiced emergency escaping of cars on special simulators.

Unit commanders and their deputies, driver mechanics, gunners, operators and commanders of combat vehicles were involved as trainees. Also, the trainees were shown the methodology of the work of the evacuation team and the procedure for towing a combat vehicle afloat in the event of an emergency.

More than 300 servicemen of the Guards airborne assault unit of the Airborne Forces were involved in the lessons on driving combat vehicles afloat.
