On June 8, a meeting with the heads and representatives of diplomatic missions of Latin America and the Caribbean (LACB) countries in the Russian Federation took place at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Member of the Board, Rector Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia A.V. Yakovenko highlighted in detail the Academy’s plans for the near future, outlined the possibilities of the Diplomatic Academy in training and retraining representatives of foreign affairs agencies of different countries, and also presented to the heads of diplomatic missions a program of short-term courses for internships for Latin American diplomats accredited in Moscow this fall.

Alexander Shchetinin, Director of the Latin American Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, spoke about the state and development of cooperation with Latin American states, noting that LACB is one of the most promising partners of our country in various areas of cooperation.

The invited guests were the Deputy Director General of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives IO Karachin and the President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry A.V. Ignatiev.

The meeting participants discussed the idea of ​​holding a conference this fall on the development of relations between Russia and the countries of Latin America.

In conclusion, A.V. Yakovenko spoke about the new information platforms of the Diplomatic Academy – the journal “Diplomatic Service and Practice” and the electronic journal “Diplomat”, inviting the heads of diplomatic missions to take part in their work as authors of articles and materials of the embassies.
