June 8 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Republic of Djibouti Mahamud Ali Yusuf, who is in Moscow on a working visit.

In the course of a thorough discussion of issues of further progressive development of traditionally friendly Russian-Djibouti relations, Moscow and Djibouti reaffirmed their commitment to deepening political dialogue, developing trade, economic and investment cooperation, expanding educational and humanitarian ties.

A confidential exchange of views also took place on the topical international and regional agenda, including the situation in the Horn of Africa. At the same time, the need was emphasized to overcome the differences existing between the countries of the region by exclusively peaceful means, in full accordance with the norms of international law.

Particular attention was paid to the substantive aspects of the preparation and conduct of the second Russia-Africa Summit in 2022
