The Mayor of Moscow presented outstanding workers of social services with certificates of honor and gratitude.

All social workers of the capital will receive awards from the Moscow Government in honor of their professional holiday. This was stated by Sergei Sobyanin during a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Social Worker in the State Kremlin Palace.

“In recent years, we have almost tripled the salaries of social workers, but inflation is also not standing still,” he said. “Therefore, in honor of your professional holiday, I announce that the Moscow Government has decided to award each social worker with 30 thousand rubles.”

The Mayor of Moscow also presented certificates of honor and gratitude to outstanding workers of the city’s social services.

“You care about everyone, about millions of people, about those who have found themselves in the most difficult, difficult life situation. And you, those who are in this hall, become the closest person. So a deep bow on behalf of Muscovites, thank you for your work, ”he said.

Sergei Sobyanin recalled that this year the capital’s social service celebrates its 30th anniversary. At the same time, there were times in the history of Moscow before that required complicity and assistance, especially during wars and epidemics. In 2020, the city faced a new challenge – the coronavirus epidemic. “The health workers, medical services and social services are at the forefront. At normal times, you provided assistance, provided home-based services to 120 thousand Muscovites. During the pandemic, under your patronage there were about two million people who were on self-isolation, who were not allowed to leave their homes, who needed help, medicines, food, and most importantly, just human participation, psychological support, “said Sergei Sobyanin …

According to him, during the pandemic, the challenge was not only difficulties with health and the burden on medicine, but also the fact that some people felt lonely, unable to wait for outside help. “It wasn’t like that in Moscow. Each resident could count not only on medical assistance, but also on your participation, on your support. And this, of course, is your great merit, ”the Moscow Mayor emphasized.

Even in a pandemic, the social service continues to improve, doing a huge range of work. Four million people are receiving benefits and support in the capital. “In recent years, you and I have changed the work of the employment service, made it proactive. And even during the pandemic, it worked very seriously. We were the first in Russia to practically halve the problems with employment and unemployment in a short time, ”Sergei Sobyanin said.

Another successful project was “Moscow longevity”, which has already been attended by hundreds of thousands of older residents. “Today I opened senior clubAnd we will have such 25 centers by the end of the year, ”the Moscow Mayor said.

In addition, thanks to the work of social services, the number of orphans in orphanages has decreased by four times. “Look what has happened in recent years: we have four times less orphans in orphanages. Four times! Even before that, Moscow has always been ahead of many regions of our country. It is not a question of finding parents to adopt a child. The main thing is that the family does not break up. The main thing is that she lives and the children feel happy in her. You are doing this very professionally, and actively, and effectively, ”he concluded.

Day of social worker in Russia is celebrated annually on June 8. This professional holiday was established by the decree of the President of Russia dated October 27, 2000.
