At one of the training grounds of the Kaliningrad region, tank units of the army corps of the Baltic Fleet performed the first live fires during the summer training period.

As part of the combat training event, the crews of T-72B3 tanks hit targets imitating armored vehicles and manpower of a conventional enemy at a distance of 700 m to 2 kilometers. Targets appeared in the engagement zone for a short time, which required instant reaction and aiming accuracy from tank crews. The shooting took place in the daytime and at night with the use of night vision devices.

Also, the tankers complied with the standards for loading ammunition, assembling and disassembling machine guns, as well as detecting and classifying targets.

The driver’s mechanics demonstrated their skills during the passage of the route with natural and artificial obstacles. The peculiarity of these firing was that the tank crew members changed each other at different stages: the driver-mechanics took the place of the gunner-operators, the tank commander took the place of the mechanic, and the gunner-operator took control of the combat vehicle.

The lesson was attended by about 150 military personnel and more than 30 units of military and special equipment.
