In accordance with the Plan approved by the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, in preparation for the international stage of the Marines-2021 competition, an all-army stage of the field training competition for marines is being held at the Pacific Fleet training ground in Vladivostok.
The main command of the Russian Navy has been the organizer of the international competition “Amphibious Assault” since 2015. The competition includes three stages. In the first two, the participants will have to overcome an obstacle course and a “survival path”, according to the results of which the best divisions of the Marine Corps are determined in terms of physical endurance and fire training. As part of the third stage “Relay”, servicemen will compete in the professional skill of controlling combat vehicles.
This year, seven teams are participating in the competition – the Pacific, Northern, Baltic, Black Sea fleets, the Caspian Flotilla, the Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne Command School and the Far Eastern Higher Combined Arms Command School. In total – more than 200 servicemen.
According to the results of the first stage of the Obstacle Course competition, the marines of the Baltic Fleet won the Best Division of the Marine Corps nomination, setting a new track record, improving the result of 2017 by 15 seconds.
During the second stage of the “Survival Trail” competition, on a 4.2 km route, marines squads in full gear and body armor overcame obstacles such as an inclined wall with ropes, a lattice fence, caponiers, barbed wire, a fence with logs, vertical fences, and also carried out fire missions as part of the unit. Representatives of the Northern Fleet showed the best results at the “Path of Survival” stage.
In the coming days, within the framework of the third stage of the “Relay”, the participants of the competition will have to demonstrate their skills in managing modern models of military equipment and its capabilities in extreme conditions.
