Order dated June 8, 2021 No. 1507-r

The regions of the Far Eastern Federal District will be able to receive additional funding for the construction of cultural development centers in small towns and rural areas. The order on the redistribution of more than 589 million rubles for these purposes was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The money will go to Buryatia, Yakutia, Magadan Region, Primorsky Krai and Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. The money will be directed to the construction of cultural development centers in urban-type settlements, as well as small towns with a population of up to 300 thousand people. Cultural Development Centers are a new format of leisure facilities for the whole family. Exhibitions and film screenings, studios and circles can be held here, artists from other regions of the country can perform on tours. They are distinguished from the usual houses of culture by their multifunctionality and a modern approach to organizing space. Since 2021, subsidies from the federal budget have been allocated for the construction of such centers in small towns and villages.

In addition, additional funding – 80 million rubles – will be directed to the Omsk, Irkutsk and Belgorod regions. The money will go to the construction and overhaul of cultural and leisure facilities located in rural areas.

The work is carried out within the framework of the state program “Development of Culture”, which was approved by the Government in 2014. Among the main tasks are the creation of favorable conditions for the development of culture, the realization of the creative potential of the nation, ensuring the rights of citizens to access to cultural values. In 2021, the federal budget provides for more than 130 billion rubles for the implementation of the program, over 117 billion rubles in 2022, and over 116 billion rubles in 2023.
