From June 1 to June 9, in the provinces of Heilongjiang and Jilin, solemn ceremonies were held with the laying of flowers at the graves of Soviet soldiers who died during the liberation of China in August 1945.

In commemorative events organized by the employees of the Representative Office of the Russian Ministry of Defense (for organizing and conducting military memorial work abroad) in the PRC, as well as the leadership of regional and local authorities in China. During the ceremonies, the participants honored the memory of Soviet soldiers with a minute of silence and laid fresh flowers on their graves.

On the territory of the PRC, there are 83 Russian military memorial sites, most of which are located in the northeast of the country, namely in the provinces of Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning and belong to the period of the liberation of China during the Manchurian strategic offensive operation.

Most of the Soviet military memorial sites in China have been assigned the status of a cultural heritage site and are being carefully cared for. All of them are the basis for military-patriotic education for students of local schools and universities. Hundreds of thousands of citizens of Russia and China visit memorial complexes to Soviet soldiers every year.
