The artillerymen of the Caspian Flotilla (CFL) of the Southern Military District (YuVO) conducted live firing in the reconnaissance and fire complex (ROK) at the Adanak mountain range.

In the field, the servicemen practiced reconnaissance, preparation of data for firing and fire control of artillery units equipped with 122-mm D-30 howitzers and 120-mm towed 2S12 Sani mortar complexes.

During training events, artillery crews performed more than 30 fire missions to destroy armored vehicles and manpower of a simulated enemy at a distance of 3 to 10 km, including from closed positions. After completing several tasks of engaging the forces and means of the “enemy” with fire, the artillerymen performed an anti-fire maneuver, advancing to reserve firing positions in the shortest possible time.

As part of the operation of the ROK, the coordinates of the detected targets were transmitted to the artillery command and control post in real time from unmanned aerial vehicles and the Strelets reconnaissance, control and communications complexes.

In total, more than 400 servicemen of the CFL artillery units took part in the combat training events, about 50 units of military equipment and about 20 units of artillery weapons were involved.
