In Russia, the number of schools that are technically ready to provide hot meals to primary school students continues to grow. In order for educational institutions to start doing this in the new academic year, the Government will additionally send more than 127.7 million rubles to the regions.

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to provide all younger schoolchildren with free hot meals. Regional expenditures for these purposes are co-financed from the federal budget. In 2020, more than 22 billion rubles were allocated to provide primary school students with hot meals, in 2021, more than 59 billion rubles were allocated.

In the new academic year, 195 educational organizations from 10 regions of the country will additionally receive subsidies. These are Ingushetia, Karelia, Crimea, Arkhangelsk, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Novgorod, Pskov, Rostov and Ryazan regions.

The amount of the subsidy is distributed in proportion to the number of primary school students in each school.
