In the Spanish city of Marin, the first day of the 52nd International Council of Military Sports (CISM) sailing world championship was held. The yachtsmen of the Russian Armed Forces team are still in second place with a minimal lag.

Three scheduled races took place on the starting day of the 52nd World Military Sailing Championship. According to their results, the Russian Armed Forces team consisting of army men – captain of the third rank Maxim Semerkhanov and sergeant Anzhelika Chernyakhovskaya – is still in second place with a minimal margin from the leaders – the servicemen of the Italian team. The third place is occupied by the representatives of the USA.

Competitions of the 52nd World Sailing Championship among military personnel are held in the national class of “Snipe” boats.

In total, the tournament is attended by representatives of 9 countries – the USA, Denmark, Greece, Portugal, Ukraine, France, Spain, Italy and Russia.

Winners and runners-up of the 52nd CISM World Sailing Championships will be announced on June 11th.
