On June 10, Minsk hosted inter-ministerial consultations of the CIS member states on the topic “On issues of arms control.”

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the CIS Executive Committee.

The consultations took place in a constructive and motivated atmosphere. A thorough exchange of views took place on a wide range of arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation issues, including nuclear disarmament, the prevention of an arms race in outer space, cooperation in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, biological security, the OSCE politico-military dimension and conventional arms control in Europe.

The consultations made it possible to outline the ways of deepening cooperation between the CIS member states in the relevant fields.
