Servicemen of the medical units of the combined arms army of the Western Military District (ZVO), stationed in the Leningrad Region, took part in a tactical and special exercise to provide first aid to victims of toxic substances.

As part of this event, doctors improved their skills in determining the degree of poisoning of servicemen, in carrying out artificial ventilation of the lungs and chest compressions under conditions of continuous fire from small arms and weapons of military vehicles by the enemy. In addition, they complied with the standards for the imposition of hemostatic tourniquets, splints and compressive bandages, the evacuation of the injured from conditionally padded equipment.

When evaluating servicemen, not only time indicators were taken into account, but also the quality of fulfillment of certain standards, depending on the developing combat training situation.

More than 100 servicemen of medical and combined arms units of the army and about 20 units of military and special equipment were involved in the special tactical exercise.
