Servicemen of a separate engineer regiment of the 49th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District (YuVO) used the Uran-6 robotic complex for the first time at the Molkino training ground in the Krasnodar Territory.
The complex was used as part of a tactical exercise at a special training ground that simulates a settlement.
According to the concept of the exercise, the conditional enemy took up defensive positions in the village and carried out a continuous mining of the approaches and adjacent roads along the route of the tank forces.
The servicemen of the Southern Military District conducted an engineering reconnaissance of the terrain, destroyed the planted mines, organized a crossing using a heavy pontoon bridge and gave the tank units the opportunity to occupy the dominant height. Engineering assault and reconnaissance subgroups in new OVR-2-02 protection suits destroyed the “enemy” in the village and carried out a complete cleaning of the area using the Uran-6 robotic complex.
The Uran-6 robotic complex is used for continuous clearance of the terrain. It can be controlled remotely from a distance of up to 1 km. The complex is equipped with four video cameras providing a 360-degree view. Uran-6 is capable of withstanding explosions up to four kg of TNT, as well as breaking a vertical wall up to 1 m high and a ditch 1.5 m wide.
The complex was used in several modern local conflicts.
In total, more than 500 military personnel of the Southern Military District were involved in the exercise, more than 30 pieces of weapons, military and special equipment were involved, including BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, IMR-2 obstacle vehicles, UR-77 self-propelled demining units, T-72B3 tanks with mine trawls.
