The Black Sea Fleet hosted the grand opening of a new inter-fleet competition “Sea Breeze” among the crews of ships of the fleet and cadets of naval educational institutions, which will be held in the water area of ​​the Sevastopol Bay from 10 to 13 June.

The opening of the competition was held under the leadership of Vice-Admiral Sergei Pinchuk, Deputy Commander of the Black Sea Fleet, at the Grafskaya pier of the hero-city of Sevastopol. After the introductory part of the ceremony and the performance of the organizers of the competition, a presentation of the teams and a draw took place.

The competition will be attended by seven teams formed from the crews of the Black Sea Fleet’s flagship – the guards cruiser Moskva, the frigate Admiral Grigorovich, small missile and large landing ships, as well as cadets of the P.S. Nakhimov and the experimental female crew of a patrol boat, successfully tested last year.

The first stage of the “Water Element” competition will take place in the waters of the Gollandiya Bay on the territory of the surface ship junction. Teams will compete in the accuracy of maneuvering along the corridor, snake and garage routes, in high-speed maneuvering, rowing a section of the route, finding a person in distress on the water, and throwing throwing ends.

At the next stage, called “Sea Throw”, sailors will compete in shooting at targets from speed boats on the move, as well as in disembarking a group from a base station on board an anchored ship.

The competition will end in the water area of ​​the Sevastopol Bay near the Monument to Scuttled Ships with demonstration performances for residents and guests of the city, where spectators will be able to watch the competition from the closest possible distance.

The Sea Breeze competition was established in the Navy in 2021 and is being held for the first time. Its purpose is to identify the strongest military personnel in maritime training. The competition will be held on high-speed boats of the BL-680 type with a length of no more than 8 meters and an engine power of up to 200 l / s. During the competition, participants must demonstrate their skills in driving and maneuvering boats in a given water area.
