Now the installation of the railway overpass is being completed, which will become part of the connecting line.

The construction of a connecting line between the Kiev and Smolensk directions of the Moscow Railway (MZhD) has been completed by 60 percent. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction Andrey Bochkarev

“Now the construction of the longest railway overpass in Moscow is being completed on the connecting line between the Kiev and Smolensk directions of the Moscow Railways, which is 94 percent complete. The overall readiness is 60 percent today, ”he said.

Currently, work is underway to waterproof the already built parts of the overpass and finish the supports. The installation of the last span is planned to be completed by the end of July this year. In addition, preparatory work is underway to start the construction of new stopping points Kutuzovo and Poklonnaya Gora.

The construction of a connecting line will make it possible to implement the MCD-4 project and integrate the Kiev direction of the Moscow Railway with the Moscow Central Circle. In addition, it will connect Kievsky and Belorussky railway stations with each other, reduce the load on the Moscow metro and unload roads in the area of the Kievsky railway station.

The total length of MCD-4 “Kievsko-Gorkovsky” will be 86 kilometers, it will have 37 stops. The terminal stations will be Aprelevka Kievsky direction and Zheleznodorozhny Gorkovsky direction of Moscow Railways.

The fourth diameter is expected to open in 2023. Its daily passenger traffic can reach 455 thousand people, which is 84 percent more than the current figure. The opening of MCD-4 will improve the transport situation in 23 districts of Moscow, where more than 2.5 million people live. It will be more convenient to get to the capital for residents of the Moscow region Aprelevka, Reutov and other nearby settlements.
