On the eve, within the framework of the regional championship of the International Council of Military Sports (CISM) in international military pentathlon, which is taking place these days in Moscow, competitions were held in two disciplines – shooting from a small-bore rifle at a distance of 50 m and swimming at a distance of 50 m with obstacles.

The national team of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is confidently leading in the overall team classification after two types of competitive programs – shooting and swimming. At the moment, the athletes of the Russian team have 8 705 points. The second place is taken by the representatives of Belarus, who scored 8,163 points. The Syrian athletes got the third result – 7 656.3 points.

Captain Alexei Svechnikov is in the lead in the CISM regional championship according to the results of two disciplines in the individual classification for men. On his account 2205, 3 points. Lieutenant Igor Zamotaev is in second place with 2198.8 points. Another CSKA representative, captain Sergei Alpatov, closes the top three. At the moment, he has 2167.6 points.

Among women, the leading positions are shared by the athletes of the Army Club: Senior Warrant Officer Irina Svechnikova – 2185.3 points. Ensign Anastasia Konopko (2135.1) is still on the second line of the protocol. The third is the captain Lyudmila Egorova – 2130.9 points.

Ahead of the pentathletes are an obstacle course, grenade throwing and cross-country race.

The competition will end tomorrow, June 11th.
