On June 10, the All-Russian competition of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in fire and rescue sports, dedicated to the 650th anniversary of the city’s founding, ended in Kaluga.

For three days, eight teams from six educational institutions of the EMERCOM of Russia competed for first place in the disciplines of fire relay, combat deployment, overcoming obstacle course and climbing an assault tower.

According to the results in four types of competitions, the team of St. Petersburg University took the first place, gaining 17349 points, the team of the Ural Institute of Fire Service with 17035 points took the second place, and the team of the Ivanovo Academy, who scored 12,972 points, in the third place.

Olesya Tsenova from the Academy of the State Fire Service of the EMERCOM of Russia and Anton Kornilov from the St. Petersburg University of the State Fire Service of the EMERCOM of Russia became the winner in the individual competition in the discipline “Obstacle Course” among women. Anastasia Romanova, a representative of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, and an athlete Nikolai Rukosuev from the Ivanovo Academy of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia, won gold in the personal competition “Assault Ladder”.

Fire and rescue sport attracts more and more spectators every year. Strength, dexterity, speed, endurance – these are the qualities that every firefighter and rescuer must possess in order to fulfill their duty to save people at the highest level every day.
