The Russian Ministry of Defense will receive more than 50 Linza sanitary armored vehicles in 2021, Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko told the head of the military representative office Vladimir Kuimov during his working trip to the Remdizel enterprise. “A contract has been signed for the supply of 56 Linza sanitary armored vehicles of the Typhoon family to the troops this year,” Kuimov said.

During his visit to the plant, the Deputy Minister of Defense discussed with the management of the enterprise the progress in fulfilling the state defense order and the execution of state contracts, as well as the work carried out at the enterprise in the areas of import substitution of foreign components and the production of armored vehicles of a new model range.

The Linza sanitary armored vehicle is designed to search, collect and transport the wounded from the battlefield and from the centers of mass sanitary losses. An armored vehicle with a 4×4 wheel arrangement of the Typhoon family is used as the base vehicle. The curb weight of the vehicle is more than 15 tons, its booking provides protection for the crew and the transported wounded from armor-piercing bullets from a rifle cartridge 7.62 by 54, as well as shrapnel.

Also this year, the Russian troops will receive the first batch of 11 newest armored escort vehicles “Partner”. According to Igor Zarakhovich, the chief designer of Remdizel, the Naparnik vehicle was created on the basis of the K-4386 Typhoon-VDV armored vehicle. “Partner” is a more modern and more secure means in terms of escorting convoys, “he said.

At the same time, as representatives of the enterprise told the deputy minister, today 70 percent of Russian armored vehicles are produced from Russian components. According to Vladimir Kuimov, the enterprise is in the process of import substitution in accordance with the import substitution program previously signed by the Ministry of Defense. From 2021, they will begin to receive domestic wheels with a combat-resistant insert, Igor Zarakhovich, chief designer of Remdizel, also reported. “New wheels“ Kama-NU-401 ”are intended for all our cars, they are produced in Nizhnekamsk. Now they are in the process of state tests. After the completion of state tests, we will begin to equip our cars with these wheels, ”Zarakhovich said.

“I really hope that from next year only Russian wheels will be used in our cars. Maybe this year some cars will be used with Russian wheels, ”he specified. The chief designer said that the new Russian wheels have “a combat-resistant rubber insert that allows them to continue moving when they are broken.” “This is a full-fledged analogue of the tires that we buy abroad,” he added.

As for the modernized multipurpose light armored tractor (MT-LB) with a new engine and air conditioning, its state tests will begin in 2021, the chief designer of Remdizel JSC told Aleksey Krivoruchko. “We are carrying out the development work“ Reconstruction ”, which will allow the old MT-LB, accepted for overhaul, to be modernized to a new level – to replace the engine, install an air conditioner, change the electrics, install an additional heater,” he explained.

According to him, now there is one experimental vehicle created within the framework of the “Reconstruction” program. “The prototype MT-LB is undergoing preliminary tests, I really hope that we will complete them this year, and next year we will go to state tests,” the chief designer said. Zarakhovich added that the production of MT-LB from scratch, which was developed in the 60s of the last century, is impossible today. “Not all MT-LB components can now be mastered in production. But taking into account the number of these machines in the troops, the overhaul will allow to extend their operation for at least another 10 years, ”he said.

During the trip, the deputy head of the Russian military department also reported that Remdizel had prepared for state tests a new armored mining vehicle, Kleshch, based on the Typhoon-VDV armored vehicle, and serial deliveries to the Airborne Forces of the Typhoon-VDV armored vehicles would begin in July this year.

“Typhoon-VDV” completed state tests, receives the letter “O1”. Serial deliveries of these machines will begin next month, ”said Igor Zarakhovich, chief designer of Remdizel.

For reference:

Remdizel manufactures equipment for use in the Armed Forces, mainly armored vehicles of the Typhoon line of different classes and wheel configurations. The volume of the state defense order at the enterprise is 93%. On average, the plant produces about 300 armored vehicles per year; in 2020, Remdizel produced 250 vehicles for the needs of the Ministry of Defense.
