The event dedicated to the launch of Radio Vera radio broadcasting was attended by Acting Head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Samara Region, Lieutenant Colonel of the Internal Service Yevgeny Zayarko, Bishop of Togliatti and Zhigulevsky Vladyka Nestor, member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Public Council under the Federal Penitentiary Service Pavel Pokrovsky, Director of the Charitable Foundation for Education “Vera” Eduard Voevodin and other guests.

In addition, in order to exchange experience, the correctional colony for women convicts was visited by the assistant to the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Ivanovo region for organizing work with believers, Alexander Soloviev.

It is noteworthy that the Vera radio station has already tested its programs in one of the colonies of the Samara region. The convicts liked the informative stories about outstanding scientists and writers, reading works of spiritual literature and Russian classics, just soulful music. Already, daily radio broadcasts have been included in the daily routine of IK-15.

As part of the event, the guests visited the Children’s Home on the territory of the colony, the Aurora rehabilitation center, and visited the local library. In the house church of the institution, Vladyka Nestor held a prayer service “To the beginning of a new business.” Then the symbolic launch of radio broadcasting took place.

On this day, the convicts were delighted with their concert by the soloists of the female choir of the Trinity-Sergius Compound of the Zavolzhsky Monastery in honor of the Honest and Life-giving Cross of the Lord and the soloist of the Samara Regional Opera and Ballet Theater, Honored Artist of the Samara Region Georgy Tsvetkov.
