The crew of the large landing ship (BDK) “Pyotr Morgunov” of the Northern Fleet completed the loading of military equipment and personnel of the marines from the shore. The exercise took place in the Pechenga Bay of the Barents Sea not far from the point of permanent deployment of the marines – the village of Sputnik.

The loading of equipment and personnel took place in a point-blank manner. During the event, a check was made on the acceptance on board of the maximum number of people and equipment of the amphibious assault.

In total, several dozen pieces of equipment were placed on the ship, including more than 30 armored personnel carriers BTR-80 and trucks, as well as a battalion of marines with standard small arms.

After loading the marines, the Pyotr Morgunov large landing craft went to sea to practice joint actions as part of a detachment of ships of the Northern Fleet. It also included the missile cruiser Marshal Ustinov, the large anti-submarine ship Vice-Admiral Kulakov and the rescue tugboat Altai.

Several weeks ago, the lead ship of the project, the large landing craft “Ivan Gren”, performed a similar loading of equipment and personnel to the maximum capacity.
