On the 150th birthday of Fyodor Tokarev, a monument to the famous gunsmith was unveiled in the village of Yegorlyk Rostov Region.

The opening ceremony of the bust of the creator of the legendary TT was attended by the servicemen of the Southern Military District, the Yunarmeys of the Yegorlyk region, representatives of the Cossacks, the district administration and veterans of the Armed Forces.

After the event, the youth members visited the regional museum of local lore, where they got acquainted with the exposition dedicated to Tokarev.

Fedor Tokarev created about 150 different samples of the systems he developed. The main brainchild of the designer was the TT pistol, as well as the SVT-38 and SVT-40 self-loading rifles, which were used in the battles of the Great Patriotic War.

At the same time, Tokarev’s sphere of interests was not limited to weapons. Fyodor Vasilyevich was also fond of photography and the design of photographic equipment. In 1948 he developed the first Soviet camera for panoramic photography FT, one of the samples of which is now kept in the museum of the village of Yegorlykskaya.
