In Vladivostok, on Korabelnaya embankment near the memorial “Military Glory of the Pacific Fleet”, the 78th graduation of officers and warrant officers of the Pacific Higher Naval School (TOVVMU) named after S.O. Makarov took place.

Commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Sergei Avakyants, representatives of the Primorsky Territory administration, representatives of veteran and public organizations of the region, pupils of the Vladivostok branch of the Nakhimov Naval School, youth soldiers, relatives and friends of graduates, clergymen took part in the solemn ceremony of being promoted to officers and warrant officers.

More than 100 officers received lieutenant shoulder straps and naval daggers. 34 graduates of the school received diplomas and midshipmen’s shoulder straps.

Traditionally, the cadets who graduated from the military school with honors, this year there are 6 such graduates, educational documents, shoulder straps and daggers were presented by the commander of the Pacific Fleet. Admiral Sergei Avakyants congratulated the graduates on the successful completion of their studies and wished them success in serving the Fatherland.

During the period of study, graduates passed the entire range of exams and tests, which fully meets the requirements for intermediate certification of higher and secondary vocational education. The cadets completed the development of the educational program, underwent maritime practice and internship on the ships of the Pacific Fleet.

The graduation ceremony for officers and warrant officers ended with a solemn passage of the personnel of the Pacific Higher Naval School named after Admiral S.O. Makarov and general photographing.

Young officers and warrant officers, trained at TOVVMU, will serve in all fleets and in the Caspian Flotilla, but most of them are assigned to ships and in part of the Pacific Fleet.

In the only higher naval educational institution in the Far East, cadets are trained in seven specialties of higher education: navigation and operation of marine navigation aids, the use and operation of naval weapons of surface ships and submarines, coastal missile systems and artillery, acoustic equipment, radio equipment of ships and others.

During the existence of TOVVMU, 78 issues were produced, more than 20 thousand officers were trained, of which more than 240 became admirals and generals. 17 graduates and employees of the school received the titles of Hero of the Soviet Union and Hero of Russia.
