A solemn ceremony of the 191st graduation of officers of the Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy took place today on Lenin Square in St. Petersburg. About 600 qualified officers will join the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the armies of foreign states. 191 young lieutenants and 25 officers completed their studies with the medal “For excellent graduation from the military educational institution of higher professional education of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation” and a diploma with honors. 104 graduates graduated from the Academy with honors.

Among the graduates of 2021, there are seven laureates of the awards (scholarships) of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, five masters of sports of Russia, six candidates for the master of sports of Russia, 127 athletes ranked in military-applied sports.

The honorary guests and officers of the Academy took part in the ceremony of awarding medals, diplomas and badges to graduates. The Chief of Staff – First Deputy Chief of the MFA of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Major General Sergei Medvedsky, read out the congratulations of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, to the graduates of the Academy.

In his speech, the head of the Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy, Lieutenant General Sergei Bakaneev, noted: “I have no doubt that you will never forget the time of training within the walls of the famous Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy, your commanders and teachers, and you will carry the high rank of an officer with honor and dignity. I am confident that you will make a worthy contribution to maintaining the combat readiness of formations and formations, where you will serve for the good of the Fatherland. “

On behalf of the heads of the academy of past years, the graduates were congratulated by Lieutenant General Vladimir Dyatlov. After the presentation of the diplomas, a farewell ceremony was held with the Battle Banner of the Military Academy, at the end of which the graduates, turning to the command and veterans, assured them of their readiness to continue the glorious traditions of the officers of the Mikhailovites.
