Small anti-submarine ships of the White Sea naval base of the Northern Fleet “Onega” and “Naryan-Mar” have worked out a set of anti-submarine missions in the White Sea. In naval training grounds, anti-submarine sailors searched for the submarine, followed it and attacked it with depth charges.

The heavy nuclear submarine missile cruiser “Dmitry Donskoy”, the crew of which operated at depth, making evasive maneuvers from anti-submarine ships, acted as an underwater enemy.

As part of the anti-submarine missions, the crews of the Naryan-Mar and Onega MPK practiced firing with rocket depth charges at a conventional underwater target. The shooting area was closed to shipping in advance.

Also in the White Sea, the crews of anti-submarine ships carried out private exercises in radiation, chemical and biological protection, communications and camouflage.

After completing all the assigned combat training missions, the ships arrived at the base – the city of Severodvinsk. Next week, they will continue to improve their combat training at naval training grounds.

Small anti-submarine ships “Onega” and “Naryan-Mar” belong to the modernized project 1124M, are armed with anti-aircraft artillery systems AK-176M and AK-630M, RBU-6000 rocket launchers and 533-mm torpedo tubes, as well as modern sonar systems … Designed to search, track and destroy submarines in the near sea and coastal zone.
