In the Simferopol House of Officers, a solemn meeting was held to mark the completion of measures to organize water supply to the central part of the Republic of Crimea in 2020. The meeting was attended by Major General Valery Muminjanov, Head of the Resource Support Department of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
“Today is a significant event on the Crimean land – the soldiers of the consolidated pipeline unit of the Southern Military District have honorably fulfilled the state task of organizing water supply to the central part of the Republic of Crimea,” said Major General Muminjanov.
15 lines of the field trunk pipeline were deployed as soon as possible on the instructions of the President of Russia and in pursuance of the instructions of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation. For the population and enterprises of the peninsula, this pipeline was vital and urgently needed.
“Its introduction has created conditions for the subsequent implementation of the decisions of the Government of the Republic of Crimea on water supply to the region at the expense of other alternative sources,” emphasized the head of the Department of Resource Support of the Ministry of Defense of Russia.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the central military command and control headquarters of the logistics headquarters of the RF Armed Forces, the Deputy Commander of the Black Sea Fleet for logistics, representatives of the Government of the Republic of Crimea, representatives of the Yunarmiya movement, the command and personnel of the pipeline units of the Southern Military District.
“The most important state task by the Russian soldiers was fulfilled on the eve of the sacred anniversary date – the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, an event that forever predetermined the greatness of the feat of our army and people! who defended their own independence and freed other peoples from enslavement! Today, officers and warrant officers, soldiers and sergeants have shown here their patriotism, high dedication in serving the Motherland, endurance and discipline! ” – said Valery Muminjanov.
During the ceremony, state awards and valuable gifts were awarded to the most distinguished servicemen in the performance of the task of organizing water supply to the central part of the Republic of Crimea.
The ensemble and the combined orchestra of the Black Sea Fleet performed in front of the military pipeline personnel with a concert program. Those present were able to familiarize themselves with a detailed exposition dedicated to the work of military personnel in organizing water supply.
At the end of the ceremony, the personnel of the pipeline divisions of the Southern Military District moved to the places of departure to the points of permanent deployment.
On the instructions of the President of Russia and in pursuance of the instructions of the Minister of Defense for the supply of water to the Republic of Crimea, the fuel service deployed 15 lines of the field main pipeline from July 8 to August 10, 2020.
Its total length, from the Belogorsk hydroelectric complex to the Simferopol reservoir, was almost 820 km.
When the pipeline was deployed by road and rail, more than 136 thousand pipes with the necessary equipment were delivered to Crimea.
Day and night, in any weather, more than 800 specialists of the pipeline troops worked, more than 250 units of military and special equipment were involved.
Built within 33 days and nights, one and a half times faster than the normative indicators, the pipeline for 4 months and 12 days provided the supply of up to 50 thousand tons of water to the central part of Crimea per day, which is 30% of the needs of only one city of Simferopol.
During the operation of the pipeline, more than 6 million tons of fresh water, so necessary for the population of the Republic of Crimea, has been pumped through it.
