Over 200 tank crews of tank units of the Army Corps of the Baltic Fleet are taking light diving training at a training complex located in the city of Sovetsk, Kaliningrad Region.

At the first stage of training, the tankers studied the method of diving under water using a special light diving kit, safety requirements, the procedure for actions in various situations under water, methods and rules of underwater evacuation.

Under water, servicemen perform purging of individual protective equipment IP-5, transfer of the tank track track, installation and fastening of the cable to the tank’s towing hook.

In total, the crews of tank subunits will have to perform ten dives and independent ascents on flooded simulators, and tankers are also working out an algorithm of actions in case of oxygen starvation and overcoming the psychological barrier that can arise in water and an enclosed space.

The final stage of the training of military personnel of tank units is overcoming water obstacles and underwater driving of T-72B3M tanks, at a waterdrome near the city of Gusev, which starts early next month.
