College students can receive a job offer during their studies.

June 20 in colleges in Moscow began admissions campaign. Apply applicants can visit the mos.ru portal from the comfort of their homes. The online service for most educational programs will be available until August 15, and for the creative professions until August 10.

The popularity of secondary vocational education among young people continues to grow – over the past few years, the number of schoolchildren who choose college has been steadily increasing. Read about the opportunities and advantages of college education in this mos.ru article.

Prestigious education

According to the director Of the first Moscow educational complexYuri Mironenko, an increase in the flow of applicants is associated with an increase in the status of the college in the educational system. If in the 2000s the overwhelming majority of graduates entered universities after vocational technical schools, today they go to work immediately and make a brilliant career.

“The prestige of secondary vocational education has grown significantly. This year we are recruiting more than a thousand people, graduating about 900, and 97 percent of them are employed. They all find a good job. If we are talking about private business, this sector needs practitioners who can create a website or shoot and edit a video. This is what we teach – to make a quality product, ”he said.

Colleges offer applicants to master modern and popular specialties in completely different areas: from the restaurant business to environmental design and information technology. Educational institutions work closely with employers, so the student can get better acquainted with the future profession already at the stage of study. In addition, colleges are equipped with modern equipment, which is no different from production.

“Colleges have a unique laboratory base for which funds are allocated from the Moscow budget. For example, we have an open-type culinary studio, where a cook and a sushi are working right in front of the visitors, – says Yuri Mironenko. – There are also special tables for pastry chefs with a cooling zone or blast freezers. The advertising faculty has a video pavilion with modern technology. As for the beauty industry, we have created studios modeled on the best salons. ”

The director of the educational complex emphasized that in the last courses, students, having already received a high level of training, can combine study and work. According to the expert, today parents do not have any prejudices against the study of children in colleges, because they understand what opportunities they provide. There are also more graduates who go to professional educational institutions after the ninth grade. And these are not at all those who are tired of studying – schoolchildren bring their certificates to colleges with A’s. The guys have strong motivation, they already realize who they want to become in the future.

Creativity and practice

The growing motivation of college applicants is also noted by Dmitry Mizonov, a teacher of technical disciplines Polytechnic College named after N.N. Godovikova… According to him, this is due to the applied specifics of education, and with a wide range of interesting specialties in colleges. Among the unequivocal advantages of studying in college, the teacher notes the focus on the practical part.

The knowledge that Dmitry Mizonov himself received in a professional educational institution helped him while working at the Grushin design bureau.

“It was interesting and understandable to work in the bureau. All the disciplines from college, where I studied aerodynamics, aircraft construction, design basics, engineering, 3D modeling, helped me. For example, when we were taught construction in college, I knew that I would use all this knowledge in production, ”he says.

In addition, college education allows you to combine hands-on work with creativity. This was told by a second year student College of Technology No. 24Elina Dronova.

“In college, I’m studying hairdressing. The specialty is practical and creative – I can immediately learn skills and work. I like the creative side of the profession. There is no such thing that you churn out the same thing every time. You can, if you like haircuts, go to a haircut, if you like coloring, become a colorist, ”the student noted.

Competitions and advertising contracts

Another important area that college students gain access to is professional skill contests. Graduate and employee College of Architecture, Design and Reengineering No. 26 (“26 FRAME”) Sergei Herkun has repeatedly become the winner of the All-Russian and international championships of professional skills WorldSkills in the “Brickwork” nomination. He held high places in the European Championships, Australia, the World Championships, and also won regional competitions in England, Hungary, Denmark.

Sergey took up this craft by accident – he was invited to a brickwork circle, where the first successes appeared. Soon, the college student was invited to the Russian national team, he was called to the first training session directly from the regional championship.

Sergei is confident that professional excellence championships are an invaluable contribution to a college graduate’s portfolio.

“WorldSkills gave me an incredible store of knowledge, important acquaintances that I can use to my advantage, including in business development, cool jobs and good advertising. While I went to the championships, I was interviewed, I was filmed by cameras, word of mouth was working. In “Instagram” messages are still received from directors of brick factories: “If you are in such and such a city, stop by”. A great road to a professional environment opened up for me, ”said Sergei Herkun.

According to him, sometimes employers take the guys right at the championship. Jobs are offered to veterinarians, builders, IT specialists and many others. Competitors can even get advertising contracts.

“It happens that they offer advertising contracts or become brand ambassadors. The brick factory suggested that I perform in a T-shirt with their logo. There was also a funny story at the European Championship. When I spoke in front of the audience and drank water from a bottle, I always turned the label towards them, such an informal agreement was with the brand, ”said Sergei Herkun.

Sergei noted that college students know everything the same as university students, but at the same time they can work with their hands.

“Working with your hands is prestigious, and the guys don’t need to be afraid to get professions that require such a skill. This is a guaranteed income, ”he stressed.

Today Sergei Herkun is already preparing students for the upcoming championships. In 2020, he was a coach for the first time, and his ward won the title of Russian champion.
