A mobile detachment of the army corps of the Black Sea Fleet is helping residents of the city of Kerch in eliminating the consequences of an emergency situation caused by a weather anomaly that struck the Crimean Peninsula.

The servicemen are clearing silt and debris from office buildings and private households, storm wells and gutters, helping local residents to repair and restore destroyed power lines and other infrastructure.

More than 130 private houses have already been cleared of the consequences of emergencies. Work to provide assistance to the local population continues.

During June 22, 2021, the mobile detachments of the Russian Ministry of Defense plan to carry out work to restore the infrastructure of the central hospital in Kerch, 9 kindergartens and 8 municipal institutions of secondary general education, as well as over 360 residential buildings and household plots.

On the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, gave instructions on building up the group involved in providing assistance to the residents of the Republic of Crimea affected by the emergency caused by prolonged precipitation.

To provide assistance to the population of the peninsula from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, about 21 thousand people and 1367 units of automobile and special equipment are involved. Relief work with the participation of military personnel has been deployed in 36 flood-affected settlements.

Mobile detachments of the Russian Ministry of Defense carry out tasks to eliminate the consequences of an emergency caused by heavy rainfall in Crimea, in cooperation with the interdepartmental operational headquarters for eliminating the consequences of an emergency, created by the authorities of the peninsula.
