A mobile detachment of the Russian Ministry of Defense in the village of Koreiz, which is part of the Yalta urban district, completed the task of equipping dams, clearing silt, rocks and debris to direct the mountain river, which overflowed the banks after heavy rainfall, into the old channel. After that, the military began to assist in the clearing of private households affected by the flood.

Also, mobile detachments of the Black Sea Fleet units continue to clean the embankment of the city of Yalta from debris, silt and soil formed as a result of flooding. For the work, special engineering equipment is used – bulldozers, excavators and dump trucks.

The servicemen have cleared over 27 thousand square meters of streets and courtyards of residential buildings from the consequences of the rain flood in Crimea, and removed more than 230 tons of garbage. To provide the civilian population with drinking water, over 122 cubic meters of drinking water has been brought up.

On the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, gave instructions on building up the group involved in providing assistance to the residents of the Republic of Crimea affected by the emergency caused by prolonged precipitation.

To provide assistance to the population of the peninsula from the Russian Ministry of Defense, about 21 thousand people and 1367 units of automobile and special equipment are involved. Relief work with the participation of military personnel has been deployed in 36 flood-affected communities.

Mobile detachments of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation carry out tasks to eliminate the consequences of an emergency caused by heavy rainfall in Crimea, in cooperation with the interdepartmental operational headquarters for eliminating the consequences of an emergency, created by the authorities of the peninsula.
