June 21, 2021 a delegation of the Airborne Forces and the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School named after General of the Army V.F. Margelova (RVVDKU) took part in commemorative, military-patriotic events on the territory of the city of Brest in the Republic of Belarus, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
The cadets took part in the reburial ceremony with military honors of the remains of Soviet soldiers found by the search detachments on the territory of the garrison and attended a sightseeing tour of the city’s memorial sites, organized by the host side. At the end of the excursion program, the Russian servicemen visited the Museum “Rescued Artistic Values”.
The delegation, headed by Lieutenant General Andrey Kholzakov, Deputy Commander of the Airborne Forces for Peacekeeping Operations and Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (CRRF), included representatives of the leadership and faculty of the renowned Airborne Forces school and more than 100 excellent cadets, who distinguished themselves in mastering their future professions, as well as the great-grandchildren of those who made an invaluable contribution to the Great Victory.
Every year, starting in 2017, at the invitation of the Belarusian side, cadets and officers of the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School named after General of the Army V.F. Margelova are participants in commemorative events on the territory of the Brest Fortress.
