The personnel of the EMERCOM of Russia takes part in a number of patriotic actions dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, keeping the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War.
On June 22, representatives of the motorcycle club of firefighters and rescuers Fiery Hearts arrived in Minsk to honor the memory of the heroes.
The motor rally started on June 19 along the route Moscow – Bryansk – Brest – Khatyn – Minsk – Moscow. All along the route, participants in the patriotic action lay flowers at the memorials to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
Thus, in Bryansk, firefighters-bikers laid flowers at the monument to Soviet soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War, visited the memorial complex “Partisan Polyana”, the Mound of Immortality and the Partizan Square.
In the hero-city of Brest, which was the first to take the blow of the Nazi invaders in 1941, the fire-fighting bikers visited the “Thirst” monument and the Brest Hero Fortress. Here, firefighters and rescuers fulfilled an important mission – they conveyed a message from the defender of the Brest Fortress Pyotr Kotelnikov, which they received from the hands of a widow and a son before the start of the run in Moscow. P. Kotelnikov, who passed away this spring, remained in the memory of his contemporaries as a true hero and defender of the Fatherland.
Also, cultural and patriotic events will be held in Khatyn and Minsk. Participants of the motocross will return to Moscow on June 23, having covered over 2200 km.
On the eve of the Day of Memory and Mourning, a flower-laying ceremony was held at the Rzhevsk Soviet Soldier Memorial with the participation of a delegation from the Central Council of Veterans of the EMERCOM of Russia, veterans and personnel of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Tver Region.
The composite column solemnly proceeded to the place of laying flowers, the personnel paid tribute to the memory of the Red Army soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War. Veteran EMERCOM of Russia Oleg Nepryakhin read the author’s poem “Dedication to the fallen near Rzhev” and sang the song “Immortal regiment” on the verses of Andrei Igolkin.
Also on the territory of the complex of the Rzhev Memorial to the Soviet Soldier, the local fire and rescue garrison was awarded new special equipment: fire trucks were received by the fire and rescue unit No. 12, fire pumps – a voluntary fire brigade.
At the end of the event, the participants visited the Museum of Local Lore of the Great Patriotic War and the Stalin’s Headquarters Museum.
An international memorial event “Candle of Memory” was held at the State Fire Service Academy of the EMERCOM of Russia. Officers, cadets, students, foreign students and children of employees of the departmental university put 1,418 candles in the installation of the Warrior-Liberator and the Eternal Flame according to the number of days of the Great Patriotic War
On the parade ground of the Academy, 180 cadets lined up in a living inscription “Heroes, we remember!” as a token of gratitude for a peaceful sky to all who defended their Motherland 80 years ago.
