Servicemen of the reconnaissance units of the combined arms army of the Western Military District (ZVO), stationed in the Leningrad Region, conducted training flights within the framework of special exercises with the calculations of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

During the training, the scouts worked out actions to prepare aircraft, control systems and observation equipment. The UAVs “Orlan-10” were involved in the flights.

Observing from a height of 500 to 2000 meters, the operators of unmanned aerial vehicles carried out reconnaissance of the terrain occupied by the imaginary enemy.

The servicemen improved their observation skills in various weather conditions and time of day, as well as under the condition of the enemy conducting active electronic suppression.

For reference:

Orlan-10 is a multifunctional unmanned complex designed for aerial reconnaissance and observation of enemy targets in hard-to-reach terrain at an altitude of up to several thousand meters at an air temperature of -30 to +40 degrees. The complex is located on the basis of the KamAZ-5350 chassis, which has an increased cross-country ability, and includes workplaces for UAV operators, a launcher and communication equipment.
