In the Yaroslavl region, servicemen of the engineer regiment of the Red Banner Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District (ZVO) during a training session detonated a controlled minefield with an area of more than 300 square meters.

The minefield was intended to destroy the manpower and lightly armored equipment of the simulated enemy. Upon contact of the target with the mined area, the engineers made a radio-controlled detonation. All charges were well disguised as a natural landscape, which made it impossible for a conventional enemy to detect a mined area without specialized equipment.

For detonation, the servicemen used more than 50 kilograms of TNT and covered over 300 square meters. More than 90 servicemen of a separate engineer regiment of the ZVO tank association took part in a special training session.
