In the course of performing scheduled flights to improve the flight skills of deck pilots of a separate naval anti-submarine helicopter regiment of the Northern Fleet, Ka-27 helicopters made more than 100 landings on the deck of the large anti-submarine ship Vice-Admiral Kulakov during the day.

The helicopter crews worked at the Northern Fleet’s training grounds in the Barents Sea to land on the ship’s deck. Five Ka-27 anti-submarine and search and rescue helicopters took part in the flights.

Both experienced and young pilots took part in the flights, who learned the practical experience of boarding a ship from their senior comrades.

Landings and takeoffs were practiced both on the move and while the ship was drifting.

For the landing of helicopters, the personnel of the aviation warhead and the boatswain’s team of the BPK “Vice-Admiral Kulakov” fixed a special anti-slip net on the deck to ensure safety.

The helicopter training took place against the backdrop of a tactical flight exercise of a separate mixed aviation regiment of the Northern Fleet, in which the crews of the Il-38 and Tu-142 aircraft took part.
