It is planned to complete the tunneling by the end of the summer.

The tunnel between the Maryina Roshcha station of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line and the metro station of the same name under construction on the Big Circle Line (BCL) is 90 percent complete.

“The mining operations on the construction of pedestrian corridors are nearing completion, along which passengers will be able to transfer from the Big Circle Line to the light green line. To date, four out of six trips have been completed, the rest will be ready by the end of summer, “said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development and Construction

Andrey Bochkarev.

The transfer hub between the two stations is a tunnel with a length of about 136 meters. It will connect the western part of the Maryina Roshcha station of the BKL and the central part of the middle hall of the station of the same name of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line.

General Director of JSC “Mosmetrostroy” Sergei Zhukov explained that due to the proximity of the existing metro station, a safe method of work was chosen – mining.

“Due to the proximity of the existing station, located above the one under construction“ Maryina Roshcha ”, the drilling and blasting method is prohibited, therefore we develop the pedestrian corridors by hand using jackhammers,” said Sergei Zhukov. – Waterproofing and monolithic works are already underway in the walkways, staircases are being reinforced. Four 25-meter long escalator belts will be installed at the transfer. ”

“Maryina Roshcha” is the deepest station of the BCL, it is being built at a depth of 70 meters. The work is planned to be completed in next year… Rounded columns will be installed in the lobby, and huge balls will become the pillars of the ground pavilion. The station is part of the northeastern section of the ring together with the Sokolniki and Rizhskaya stations.
