Children of servicemen of the united Russian military base Kant in Kyrgyzstan, Yunarmeys and schoolchildren took part in a creative competition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.

The event began with a minute of silence in memory of those killed during the war. Participants presented their works in two nominations: “Poem about War” – schoolchildren competed in creative reading of poetry, and “The Story of My Hero”, in which children told stories of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers who fell on the battlefield for their homeland. In addition, for participants from remote areas, the competition was held online, and the guests of the event were able to get acquainted with an exhibition of drawings dedicated to the memory of the heroes of the front and rear.

The winners of the competition were awarded with certificates and prizes.

The joint Russian military base Kant in Kyrgyzstan is part of the Collective Rapid Deployment Force and is involved in ensuring the security of the airspace of the CSTO states. It is armed with Su-25 attack aircraft and Mi-8 helicopters.
