Russia and Uzbekistan will comprehensively develop mutual trade, increase export supplies, including agricultural products. This is stated in the memorandum of understanding on the development of logistics corridors, signed following a meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of the heads of government of the two countries.

The document fixes the priority areas of cooperation. These include improving customs, sanitary and phytosanitary procedures, simplifying the procedure for moving goods between countries, implementing infrastructure projects, in particular, agrological and wholesale distribution centers, and developing interaction between government agencies in the field of digitalization.

Within the framework of the stated directions, the parties will develop and implement joint action programs, exchange information and documents, prepare analytical reviews on issues of mutual interest.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade will coordinate the execution of the memorandum on the Russian side, and the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade on the Uzbek side.

The implementation of the provisions of the document will help to minimize foreign trade barriers, will contribute to the formation of transport routes with more flexible customs and logistics procedures.
