Specialists Moscow Housing Inspection explained how to properly change the batteries in the apartment. In particular, it is necessary to contact the management organization to replace the radiators. Regardless of the season, the batteries contain a coolant (specially prepared industrial water, purified from salts and other impurities so that deposits do not accumulate on the pipe walls) under pressure, so replacing the pipes yourself can be dangerous.

When the heating season ends, the water is no longer supplied heated, but remains in the system and protects it from corrosion. When replacing heating devices, it is necessary to drain the water from the heating system (followed by filling).

Not all heating devices in an apartment are considered the property of residents, so they cannot be replaced without good reason. Apartment owners are responsible for pipes that can be dismantled without damaging the entire building heating system. The management organization is responsible for the heating devices of the common property, therefore, if they corrode, leak, or in an emergency condition, such devices should be repaired or replaced free of charge.
