A delegation from the Airborne Forces and the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School named after General of the Army V.F. Margelova (RVVDKU) took part in the commemorative action “Brest Fortress-Hero”, taking place in the Republic of Belarus in the city of Brest.

The cadets laid flowers at the Eternal Flame, lit commemorative candles, marched in a ceremonial march as part of the parade crew of the Brest garrison. The event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

The delegation, headed by Lieutenant General Andrey Kholzakov, Deputy Commander of the Airborne Forces for Peacekeeping Operations and Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (CRRF), included representatives of the leadership and faculty of the RVVDKU and more than 100 excellent cadets, as well as the great-grandchildren of those who made an invaluable contribution to the great Victory.

On the eve of the cadets of the command school of the Airborne Forces named after General of the Army V.F. Margelova took part in the ceremony of reburial with military honors of the remains of Soviet soldiers found by the search detachments on the territory of Brest, and attended a sightseeing tour of the city’s memorial sites, organized by the host side.

Every year, since 2017, at the invitation of the Belarusian side, cadets and officers of the school take part in commemorative events taking place on the territory of the Brest Fortress.
