Inspection of construction objects of the Eastern landfill

During the visit, Marat Khusnullin will get acquainted with the construction progress of BAM modernization facilities in the section from Padunskie Porogi station to Tynda station.

The result of Marat Khusnullin’s trip to the BAM will not only inspect the construction progress of the second stage of the railway. The government is starting to select solutions and preparing for the development of technical specifications aimed at fulfilling the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin to solve the problem of exporting coal from Yakutia. The development of the Yakut cluster is the third stage in the modernization of the railway infrastructure of the Eastern range.

On June 22, accompanied by the Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev, the head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov, as well as the head of the Republic of Buryatia Alexei Tsydenov, the Deputy Prime Minister inspected the Lena-Taksimo railway section.

Here, from Lena station to Severobaykalsk station, 16 objects are being built: 11 – second tracks or double-track inserts, 3 sidings and 2 artificial structures. Some of them are planned to be put into operation by the end of this year, which will make it possible to multiply the capacity of the railway on this section.

Particular attention in the BAM inspection program was paid to the New Baikal Tunnel on the Delbichinda – Daban section. A section of the railway with a length of 6682 m connects the Irkutsk region and the Republic of Buryatia. The labor movement was opened here the other day. During the meeting with the builders of the tunnel, the distinguished guests expressed their gratitude to the entire team for the large-scale work done.

Another significant object on the way of the delegation was the Severomuisky Tunnel – the longest railway tunnel in Russia with a length of 15,343 meters. Its opening in 2003 made it possible to increase traffic safety, ensure its uninterrupted operation and reduce costs on a difficult section of the railway. An alternative transit line is the Severomuisky bypass, 54 km long, which makes it possible to additionally pass empty wagons.

“A lot has been done in recent years. You can see how much everything has been updated. I believe that this is a great merit of the Russian railway workers. In these difficult conditions in such a state, building and maintaining the infrastructure is a systematic, big work, ”said Marat Khusnullin.

The government’s plan for the development of the Eastern Polygon includes the construction of second tracks and double-track inserts, the reconstruction of stations and road beds, the construction of high-tech railway infrastructure, as well as the construction of new energy facilities. All of these efforts will contribute to the smooth flow of trains, increased transit traffic and timely delivery of goods.

On June 23, Marat Khusnullin will continue inspecting the construction sites of the BAM and will take part in the opening ceremony of the Kutykan – Kuvykta section.
