Decisions following the meeting of the Presidium of the Coordinating Council under the Government to combat the spread of the new coronavirus infection

Timely medical care, drug provision, a sufficient number of beds in hospitals, vaccination – these and other issues were included in the list of instructions approved by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on the results of the meeting of the coordinating council to combat the spread of the new coronavirus infection, which took place on June 17.

Thus, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health should ensure additional allocation of funds from the Government’s reserve fund to provide medical assistance to people diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The money will be directed to the territorial compulsory health insurance funds.

The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health are also instructed to ensure the allocation of funds from the Government’s reserve fund for the purchase of medicines for patients with coronavirus. We are talking about patients who receive medical care on an outpatient basis, that is, they are treated at home under the supervision of doctors. All the necessary drugs are given to them free of charge on the prescription of the attending physician.

At a meeting of the coordinating council, Mikhail Mishustin noted that it is necessary to ensure that the healthcare system is fully prepared for new challenges. In this regard, the Ministry of Industry and Trade was instructed to take measures to form the necessary supply of oxygen in hospitals and report the results of this work to the Government by June 30.

The Ministry of Health has been instructed, together with the Moscow government, to work out the feasibility of re-profiling federal medical organizations to provide assistance to patients with coronavirus infection. The results must be reported to the Government by July 1.

At the same time, the leaders of the regions were recommended to ensure the formation of a sufficient reserve of bed capacity, as well as continue to inform citizens about the possibility of being vaccinated.

“People should receive all the necessary information about how dangerous the coronavirus is, what are its consequences, how you can protect yourself and your family from infection, and, of course, where you can get vaccinated,” the Prime Minister said. He also recalled that on behalf of the President, free vaccination was organized for everyone in each region. “While in other countries there are queues and are ready to pay big money or go abroad to get vaccinated, our citizens have such an opportunity,” said Mikhail Mishustin.

There are instructions for vaccination on the list. This is a particularly important question now. The Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Science and the Rospotrebnazdor have been tasked to present a position on the timing and procedure for vaccination of citizens who have had coronavirus, as well as on the revaccination of those who have already been vaccinated against coronavirus. For them, it is necessary to determine the periods during which the vaccination is valid.

In addition, Rosrezerv, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance must submit to the Government a draft decree on the supply of at least 4 million more doses of the Sputnik Light vaccine to the Russian regions by June 25.
