According to previously reached agreements, July 1, 2021 comes into force Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran on visa-free group tourist trips of citizens of the Russian Federation and citizens Islamic Republic of Iran, signed in Moscow on March 28, 2017.

The agreement provides for visa-free travel of tourist groups consisting of 5 to 50 people, formed by tourist organizations of Russia and Iran, for a period of up to 15 days.

The coordinating bodies for the Agreement are: from the Russian side – Rostourism and executive authorities in the field of tourism of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, from the Iranian side – the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Crafts and Tourism of Iran and its competent representatives.

Reception in the Russian Federation of tourist groups from Iran within the framework of the Agreement will be possible after the removal of the temporary restrictions on the entry into the Russian Federation of foreign citizens established by by order of the Government of the Russian Federation dated March 16, 2020 No. 635-r “On the temporary restriction of entry into the Russian Federation of foreign citizens and stateless persons and the temporary suspension of the registration and issuance of visas and invitations” in connection with pandemic new coronavirus infection.
