On June 23, the Khabarovsk Aviation Rescue Center of the EMERCOM of Russia celebrates the 40th anniversary of its foundation. For the employees of the unit and their families, veterans, residents of the city, the aviators held an Open Day.

An exhibition of equipment was presented to the guests at the airport. Helicopters Mi-8 and Mi-26, aircraft An-74 and Be-200ES. The exposition was supplemented by rescue and fire trucks, mobile complexes of the group of unmanned aircraft and ATVs. Experienced engineers and technicians answered all the questions that arose, talked about the features of technology, the tasks that are performed with their help.

For the audience, a program was presented with a demonstration of the capabilities of aircraft. The amphibious aircraft carried out a simulated extinguishing of the fire, dropping water onto a simulated fire. The paratrooper group performed jumps from the Mi-8 helicopter from a height of 1.5 thousand meters above the ground. More than a dozen paratroopers flew over the airfield and landed at precisely designated locations.

The Khabarovsk Aviation Rescue Center of the EMERCOM of Russia provides cover for the entire Far East, is used to perform tasks outside its borders, including abroad. It is armed with 18 units of airborne equipment used to perform a variety of tasks. The base detachment and its air links are deployed at six airfields in Khabarovsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Vladivostok, Yakutsk, Magadan.

The center’s employees took part in the elimination of a large number of emergencies, including the earthquakes in Koryakia in the villages of Tilichiki and Korf, the flood in Lensk in Yakutia, and the accident at the Japanese nuclear power plant “Fukushima”. They assisted in escorting ships in the Sea of ​​Okhotsk when they were captured by ice in 2011. In 2019, they helped transport the “Red Book” polar bear from Kamchatka to Chukotka, when it wandered into a different habitat.

The festive program was intense. Since many came on this day with their families, there were children from school and summer grounds, specially for the children they prepared zones for sports games, animators, face painting. Employees of the canteen of the aviation rescue center prepared delicious porridge and buns, ice cream.
