At one of the training grounds in the Trans-Baikal Territory, a special tactical exercise with servicemen of the radio engineering units of the air defense unit of the Eastern Military District (VVO) was completed.

In the course of the practical part of the exercise, the specialists of the radio-technical troops complied with the standards for the deployment and topographic referencing of the “Sky” and “Sky-SVU” radar stations.

Particular attention was paid to working out the tasks of detecting manned aircraft flying at low and extremely low altitudes, against the background of intense reflections of local objects and meteorological formations.

In addition, the specialists of radio engineering units improved their skills in finding and identifying targets for jamming a simulated enemy; a number of measures were also taken to collect, analyze and transmit information about the state of the air situation in the area of responsibility.

In total, about 200 servicemen took part in the planned combat training event, up to 50 pieces of equipment were involved.
