Small anti-submarine ships (MPK) of the White Sea Naval Base (VMB) of the Northern Fleet “Onega” and “Naryan-Mar” have worked out the conduct of naval artillery combat with shooting. An exercise with actual shooting at a towed shield took place at combat training grounds in the White Sea.

Firing at a moving surface target was worked out by the combat crews of the 76-mm artillery mounts of the IPC.

The shooting was provided by the sea tug of the Belomorskaya naval base. He towed a special target shield, at which warships fired artillery fire.

After completing the combat exercises, all the participants in the exercise returned to the base.

Last week, the crews of the small anti-submarine ships Onega and Naryan-Mar completed training anti-submarine missions: searching for a simulated enemy submarine, tracking it and attacking it with depth charges.

For reference:

MPK Onega and Naryan-Mar belong to the modernized project 1124M, are armed with anti-aircraft artillery systems AK-176M and AK-630M, RBU-6000 rocket launchers and 533-mm torpedo tubes, as well as modern sonar systems. The ships are designed to search, track and destroy submarines in the near sea and coastal zone.
