The Government of the Sverdlovsk Region hosted the grand opening of the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference, timed to coincide with the International Day against Drug Addiction, Drug Trafficking and Alcoholism. Chief narcologists from 44 regions of Russia, as well as heads of organizations and programs working with addicted citizens, gathered in Yekaterinburg.

The plenary session was attended by representatives of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and the GUFSIN of Russia in the Sverdlovsk Region. The organizing committee of the conference was headed by Anton Poddubny, a member of the Public Council at the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region, the chief physician of the Regional Narcological Hospital. Dmitry Kazantsev, a member of the Public Council under the GUFSIN of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region, made a plenary report on the topic: “Social rehabilitation of drug addicted convicts in the penitentiary and post-penitentiary periods. Experience of joint activities of the Sverdlovsk regional public organization” Board of Trustees “Return” and the GUFSIN of Russia in the Sverdlovsk region. “

Back in 2018, this program was presented at the Anti-Drug Commission under the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, and in 2021 it received support from the Presidential Grants Fund. From April 2018 to the present, this program has been implemented at once in four correctional institutions in the Sverdlovsk region: IK-3, IK-6 (for women), IK-10, IK-47.
