Guards Colonel Andrei Pyataev took up his official duties as the new chief of staff – first deputy commander of the Guards Red Banner Combined Arms Army of the Western Military District (ZVO), whose headquarters is stationed in Voronezh.

Andrey Yuryevich Pyataev was born on September 5, 1974 in the city of Ardon of the North Ossetian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1997 he received his first officer rank, graduating from the St. Petersburg Higher Combined Arms Command School.

For 30 years in the service of the Homeland of the Guard, Colonel Pyataev has consistently gone from a driver-mechanic of an infantry fighting vehicle BMP-2 to the commander of the Taman motorized rifle division and deputy commander of the ZVO tank army. Graduated from the Combined Arms Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 2009 and the Military Academy of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces in 2020.

Over the years of service, Andrei Pyataev was awarded the Order of Courage, the badge of distinction “For impeccable service” XX years, the Suvorov medal and seven medals of the Russian Ministry of Defense. Participant in hostilities. He is married and has a son and daughter.
